Alexina O'Brien- Owner of Time To Go Out!
My name is Alexina, and I started Time To Go Out December, 2007 with the goal of bringing pet owners peace of mind that their pets are well taken care of and happy while they are not at home!
I received my Associate's Degree in Applied Animal Science from The Thompson School of Applied Science at UNH in December 2005. I am a certified Advanced Pet Care Technician through Pet Care Services Association.
I worked for 3 years at The Barking Dog in Derry, NH as a Doggie Day Care specialist and Kennel technician. I recently worked for 2 years at Wignall Animal Hospital in Dracut, MA as a Doggie Day Care specialist and Kennel technician. I worked for 1 year at Canine Companions for Independence in California as an Instructor's Assistant to train dogs to service the hearing impaired individual.
For 2 ½ months, I had an internship at the Cincinnati Zoo, primarily working with Asian elephants and Sumatran rhinos. To further help animals, I volunteered at The Stone Zoo, Safari West in California, Nevins Farm (MSPCA) in Methuen, the Dairy Barn at UNH, and most recently I volunteer as a dog walker at the Salem Animal Rescue league in Salem, NH.
Not only do I have professional experience caring for many different kinds of animals, but I have personally raised 4 cats, 5 dogs, and a Hermann Tortoise. Pictured above are my current animals Mr.T (Hermann Tortoise), Ina (Domestic Short hair), Cosette (Corgi/Chihuahua), and Atticus (Siberian Husky).
